Did Meeker get killed at the end?

One can assume he was killed by the man in black, but it seems like a real unsatisfactory way for a character like him to die after all his screen time. Off screen and not by Michael..

He did die. Jamie and the audience saw his body laying on the ground in the police station. It was certainly a surprise, which is what they intended. Meeker was a good character, but much like Brackett, the character was played out and really had no more story to tell. He really wouldn't have worked for Curse's story. The sheriff was only seen in the Producer's Cut, unsympathetic and barely a cameo. Meeker and Starr deserved better than that, so his death in 5 was a better fate.

He did.

But where did Loomis go?

I would imagine the hospital. I don't remember if it was a stroke or heart attack, (he said what it was in Curse) after he collapsed at the Myers house after beating Michael with a 2x4 he was nowhere near the police station or in any shape to do anything after that. He may not have been informed of those events until long after the fact, well into his recovery.

Thanks. I didn't want to have to watch it again. LOL

Well he didn't need to be killed off by Michael. Michael isn't that special that anyone who dies in this series has to die by his hands. But yes, Meeker did die and there's even a picture of him I came across over on the official Halloween message board of him getting blasted right in the chest by the man in black, which apparently isn't seen in the movie. I came across it in another thread here, and I'll share it here: http://iconsoffright.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/sbm1.png.

Either way, he seemed like a more important character to just be killed, off screen and barely have his body seen.

True, but he wasn't THAT important like Michael, Loomis, and Jamie, and we still get a good sense he was killed. You just have to pay real close attention to see his body laying on the floor as Jamie is walking through all of the slaughter. I would liked to have seen him in H6. It's quite odd how the sheriffs can't seem to make it past two movies. Brackett was only in H1 and H2 and then Meeker in H4 and H5.

Shock value and I'd say it worked.
