Worst sequels in horror movie franchises

Psycho
Psycho (Remake) (Vince Vaughn as Norman Bates, LMAO!!)

The Exorcist
The Heretic

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Not sure, only saw the 2003 remake

Carrie
The Rage (Felt more like a crappy late 90s remake than an actual sequel)

The Omen
The Omen (Remake)

Halloween
Season of The Witch (It was alright)
The Revenge of Micheal Myers
The Curse of Micheal Myers (Has its fans, like me)
Resurrection
Halloween II (2009)

Alien
Any film after the second one, including the two crossovers with Predator. Why AVP even got a sequel instead of Freddy Vs. Jason, I'll never know!

Amityville
Not sure, never seen any of them

Friday The 13th
A New Beginning
Jason Takes Manhattan
Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday
Jason X

Evil Dead
Not sure, never seen any of them

Poltergeist
Poltergeist III
Poltergeist (Remake)

Children of The Corn
Not sure, only seen the first one

Sleepaway Camp
Not sure, only seen the first one

A Nightmare on Elm Street
The Dream Child (The part where the pool becomes like 50 feet deep in that one chick's dream was laughable)
Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
A Nightmare on Elm Street (Remake)

Silent Night, Deadly Night
Any film after the second one

Hellraiser
Not sure, never seen any of them

Child's Play
Child's Play 3 (Not that bad)
Seed of Chucky

Candyman
Day of The Dead

Leprechaun
In Space
Origins

Scream
Scream 3

Final Destination
The Final Destination

Saw
Not sure, only "saw" the first one

Paranormal Activity
All of them except "maybe" the first one

The Purge
I know there's only two films in the series (soon to be three) but I thought the first one sucked because it felt like a boring home invasion film instead of one about all crime being legal for 12 hours.

For me : The ones I dislike and watch least, anyway...

Halloween

Resurrection
Halloween II (2009)

Friday The 13th

Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday
Jason X

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Dream Child
New Nightmare

Child's Play
Bride and Seed

Scream

Scream 4

Final Destination

The last two

Saw

The first one, honestly. I thought it was too one dimensional and boring.
The rest actually added characters, depth twists and turns

Wishmaster

Wishmaster 3

Hellraiser

All the straight to video ones

Amityville

All the non theatrical ones

Paranormal Activity

The spin off and the last one

Psycho
The remake

Omen
Omen IV and the remake

TCM

Easier to say the ones I liked : The first 3 and the remake w/Jessica Biel, because Jessica Biel.

Any other franchises anyone else can think of?

"He came home." - Dr. Sam Loomis from the original HalloweeN

I thought Bride of Chucky was a good sequel like Child's Play 2. I do agree about Seed, that one sucked and nearly destroyed Chucky for good. They took out all of the horror elements and even ignored important plot points from all four sequels, except Bride and didn't even mention the fact that Chucky was once a human from the first film like Curse did, the Good Guy dolls from the first three films are never even brought up, and Andy Barclay isn't even seen nor is he mentioned. Thank God Curse addressed these issues! It was like it took place in a separate continuity or even the real world like New Nightmare did. Glen was also not an interesting character because he was like this soccer mom against violence and killing. He was worse than Tyler from Child's Play 3. I mean to think that we almost got a reboot because of that film! Thank God Curse came out about 9 years later and saved the franchise from the Hollywood remake machine that claimed Halloween, Friday The 13th, and A Nightmare on Elm Street, among many others like Poltergeist.

I actually thought Final Destination 5 was pretty good. The opening diaster was pretty realistic and could actually happen and the deaths were pretty gruesome like the eye surgery one and I like how the ending ties to the beginning of the first film with the plane blowing up in midair. That is still the scariest opening disaster and that's why I'll never fly in a plane because of that and 9/11. I thought 3 and 4 were the weakest. FD3 hardly had any tragic deaths, other than the two Asian girls that are killed in the tanning bead. The rest of the deaths were not even gruesome and were very predicable and cheesy and it had the least scary opening disaster in the series. Now TFD was the worst in the series but I did like the climax where that guy prevented the mall from being blown up by those explosive barrels behind the theater. That was pretty damn bone chilling and intense! In the premonition, you feel sorry for the people rushing out of the theater corridor because everything is on fire and then the second explosion nearly destroy a good half of the mall and causes the escalators to malfunction because Death was having a temper tantrum because those two girls were in the theater when the film showed the bomb blowing up in the film, which was in sync with those explosive barrels. After seeing that over 5 years ago on Christmas Eve, I was afraid for awhile to go to a mall or a theater because of that scene, I'm not joking either!

I'm only going to choose the franchises I've seen all or most of. These are my least favorite sequels out of them all.

Psycho
Bates Motel (1987)

The Exorcist
The Beginning

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Texas Chainsaw 3D

Carrie
The Rage

The Omen
The Omen (Remake)

Halloween
Resurrection

Amityville
I've only seen up to Amityville Haunting and they've released about 3 or 4 more since then and I've heard of a handful more that are in production as we speak. Everyone with a camera is making an Amityville film. It's crazy. But Haunting was the worst I'd seen.

Friday The 13th
Jason X

Evil Dead
Remake

Poltergeist
Remake

Children of The Corn
Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return

Sleepaway Camp
Return to Sleepaway Camp (The characters are so annoying and obnoxious that I hated every single one. But Alan was by the far the worst one and I guess we're meant to feel sorry for him?)

A Nightmare on Elm Street
Remake

Silent Night, Deadly Night
Initiation

Hellraiser
Deader

Child's Play
Curse of Chucky

Leprechaun
In the Hood (though I haven't seen Origins yet)

Paranormal Activity
The Marked Ones (though I haven't seen Ghost Dimension yet)
