I like to see a sequel by the man that started it all.

God I hope this actually happens. I was disappointed that Halloween Returns was cancelled as I really liked that premise, but JC returning will be even better!

Yea same here, I couldn't stand the remakes- And the whole crappy unicorn thing

reply

It wasn't a unicorn, it was a horse. Different species. But yes, the last film had issues. The remake wasn't a complete waste. It had it's moments.

HAHA your right I was going to edit that and put White Horse but I fell asleep, Not just the last film but both films that Rob Zombie did had problems

It had it's moments like what?

reply

For me, it had eye candy, in the 3 girls. McDowell was an okay Loomis, not as good as Pleasence by any means, but not a complete tool like the 2nd one. Like I said, the line homages were a nice touch. I liked the idea of the backstory, but not the execution of it. Same thing with Resurrection. Had any of it been real, it would've been better. After 10 films, many years, him just snapping and killing family and babysitters for no apparent reason was not good enough anymore.
Not for me. Add something to it.

Psycho and Omen remakes were lazy and horrible casting. At least Halloween did that right.

Yea the 3 girls were alright to look at I give you that, Yea his the way Andy played Loomis in the second one was stupid, Although that was the script

I also didn't like how he made them stupid noises when killing people, What other films you goin to watch this year

reply

I agree with all of that, which is really why I don't fault Scout, Danielle or even Angela, because she was relatively new and unheard of. Same with McDowell, he played it as it was written. Still, horrible thing to do.

So what are you hoping for in this new sequel, To be as intense as the first few were?

reply

Yes. Back to basics. Babysitters to be killed by the boogeyman. Tension, suspense, darkness, not so much the tone, but the timing. I think they can pull it off. I hope so. Even if they don't, after all these years and all these movies, that's okay. I'm going in with a hopeful attitude, but can live with disappointment.

Exactly back to basics, The old saying goes if it ain't broke- Don't fix it

Do you think Carpenter will follow it on from H6-Curse of Michael Myers??

One thing that really annoyed me about H2O- Is that the burns he suffered in H2 it did not show any burn scars on his hands....That was a goof

reply

I think he will pick up after the first Halloween, maybe II even though he didn't direct nor like it very much. He certainly had no hand in 4-6, so I doubt he will touch those. H20 pissed me off on many levels. The Scream feel, including the cameo from Scream 2, the many bad masks, including CGI, the ending, etc. The lack of burns was ridiculous and an oversight even the less liked/acclaimed 4-6 got perfectly.
