He's still working on it (https://nerdist.com/article/fright-night-director-tom-holland-sequel/) and doing so as a possible film sequel, but honestly, I'd rather leave things as they are. Holland is planning on retconning the 1988 sequel out of continuity, and I actually really like the sequel, so I'd hate to see it go out (plus Charley got a major girlfriend upgrade when he traded Amanda Bearse for Traci Lin, I really like the idea of him sticking with Alex). Holland plans on bringing back Jerry Dandridge, and I really just don't like resurrecting the same villain for a sequel; I think part II did well to introduce a new vampire enemy and gave her a decent motivation to go after Charley. And anyway, how do you have Chris Sarandon play an immortal vampire now when he's thirty-five years older than he was in the original movie? Plus, Roddy McDowall as Peter Vincent was a huge part of the appeal of the original and sequel both, and he's no longer with us. I think a third installment would suffer tremendously from his absence.
shareWill never happened in todays movie climate ! He will never get funding or distribution.

shareI saw that name and immediately thought of Spider-Man, for some reason...!
