Doctor?
I've always wondered why Da Mayor called everyone "Doctor" when they quite obviously were nothing to do with the medical industry.
Two for flinching!
He has the illusion of placing himself in this special identity as "da mayor". He is in such a deep awareness of this identity that he calls everyone “doctor”, as a doctor is an occupation which is held in high regard in society.
His inebriated thinking: A mayor will surely consult with doctors frequently.
The reason that he calls people "doctor" is not that he wants to praise them. In fact, this is a way of gaining self satisfaction of his own identity.
