this or American History X?
which is better?
shareI liked both Do the Right Thing and American History X equally well, to be honest with everybody here.
shareIn X, the character makes a journey. He evolves. By the end of the movie he's a better person. In dtrt, everybody does the same thing, but by the end of the movie they're worse. That's what makes X a more effective film.
I graduated from the college of the streets, I gotta Phd in how to make ends meet.
Not even close. American History X is solid but nothing special. Do the Right Thing is a great film, and is gaining recognition as such, for example in the 2012 Sight and Sound poll (127th in the critics poll, and 132nd in the directors poll).
shareThey are super different to be honest. I preferred Do the Right Thing because it came off as a weird, surrealist film noir at times with the heat, etc.
AHX is more about a racist dad who makes his kids racist to the point they target others unlike them, until one of them does time and reforms.
They show different sides of the racism medal. American History X was powerful for sure, but I preferred City of God for covering poverty, violence and exploitive behaviour.
DTRT- better story, score, cinematography
AHX- better acting.
Both great films that are in different genre's. To compare them is impossible.
Which is better..."Ghost" or "Casper"? They both involve ghosts, right?
Time wounds all heels.
