William Forsythe

Wow... I've always enjoyed his presence in movies that I've seen him in no matter what kind of character he is playing (though usually I've seen him as some kind of FBI or cop), but in Dead Bang he was just awful!! Was this intentional or was this movie just made before he learned to act?

I thought he was really good in this. I think he was portraying the agent as stiff and uptight, which is why the performance may have seemed flat. his character was wooden and humorless to contrast johnson's wild, sarcastic, cynical character. to me that's what made the scenes with both of them so funny. like when he asks johnson about not bringing a coat or his foul language, lol.

I thought Forsythe was great in this movie as well. Was it his greatest performance? No but I thought it was really refreshing to see him playing a conservative clean cut FBI agent instead of the usual badass we almost always see him play. Was his character slightly over the top in an uptight nerdy sort of way? Sure. But i've actually met people kinda like his character in real life (Hate curse words, Do everything by the book, Brown nosers, etc). So in that regard, he did a good job. I would imagine he probably took the role because it was a refreshing change of pace for him.
