Albert Spica 'the Thief'?

The cook is 'the cook'.
Albert is 'the thief'.
Georgina is 'his wife'.
Michael is 'her lover'.

That seems to be logically how the film's title identifies these four main characters. My question is, in what way is Albert Spica the thief? He has many and severe dislikeable qualities and habits, but as far as I noticed, thievery isn't one of them.

he stole the villain's wife dude

By 'the villain', do you mean Mr Spica? It was Michael who stole Mr Spica's wife, and Michael is apparently 'her lover' in the title. So who was 'the thief'?

reply

Ummm... Albert is the head of a ring of thieves. Being head thief would make him.... a thief. Remember when his henchmen brought in the sub-par silverware that they stole?

I feel more like I do now that when I first got here...

Albert Spica is an extortionist, and extortion is a form of thievery.

Baseball lies to us seductively, and we know we're being seduced, and we don't complain.

The clue is in the billing...

Spica is obviously some kind of gangster, who like a Russian oligarch thinks he can buy class and style but remains horribly crude and nasty. His relationship with the classy Georgina is sterile.

But he loves his mummy as all good gangsters do.

This is what I was unsure about. Who was the thief ? I thought that may be the thief was the character at the very beginning of the film, who was beaten, stripped naked and covered in muck by Albert and his henchmen. But perhaps it was Albert himself.
