Something that always bothered me

I can understand that the film is from Nick's point of view, and as such the Japanese wouldn't have been explained, but to me, it's a fairly poignant bit at the end where they hand over the bad guy, and I feel it was worthy of subtitles, because it seems such a big victory, and I can only appreciate the emotion behind it thanks to the musical score.

So, I dunno how likely this is, but could anybody translate what was said here? :s

Kung fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene...

I think subtitles would have diminished the moment. Knowing what he said wasn't important. The moment was for both Nick and Matsumoto, who helped each other in capturing Sato. It was a great scene.

If you understand about Japanese history and culture, Nick briging Sato into the police station cuffed is far worse than killing him. That is the ultimate in shame for a Yakuza boss. Shame and loss of face are two of the worst things that can happen to them from their perspectives

I agree with you both, but it still bothers me :s I mean I hate not knowing what's going on, yknow what I mean? I would just like to know what's being said so I'm not just sitting there wondering..

I would like to know what the Japanese police officers were saying in the superintendent's office before they wanted to blame the American cops for letting Sato get away. I would also like to know what the superintendent said to the inspector when he found Douglas and Garcia at Sato's hideout after they had raided the place. Finally, I too like to know what the superintendent said after Sato was deliver to the Japanese police.

1) what the superintendent basically says to Matsumoto at Sato's hideout is "WTF are those gaijin doing here!?"

2) what Wakayama says to Douglas before he gets thrown into the car is basically "your the reason you made me miss the golf ball"

the other 2 scenes I would have to watch the movie again
