Coolest movie motorcycle ever?
The 'race' at the start of this film was pure Hollywood horses**t, a 1000cc 70's Harley Davidson with 57bhp weighing 218kg (261bhp/tonne) versus an 1100cc 80's Suzuki with 108 bhp weighing 251kg (430bhp/tonne), not to mention the Suzi' more modern brakes, frame and suspension has a fairly obvious conclusion. But that wasn't the point I know, this was showing good ol' American ruggedness winning over Japanese hi-tech by din't of the application of several gallons of testosterone and testicles the size of watermellons.
Having said all of that, I instantly fell in love with the Harley! In case anyone is interested it was an XLCR 1000 Cafe Racer, designed by Willie G. Davidson and they only made about 3500 of them so they're quite rare. Paralleled in butch-ness by bike such as the Yamaha Vmax, Triumph Speed Triple, KTM Super Duke etc but not surpassed.
If she-who-must=be-obeyed ever lets me have another bike and I win the lottery, one of these'll be top of the shopping list.
What say you?
