Kate Capshaw Character
I saw in a brief of the movie somewhere she was said to be a barmaid, but from what i gleaned she was basically a mamasan or a high class hooker. She dressed very glamourously and if she was doing bar work only why would she be in japan doing it and go to all that trouble.
Also, the girls sitting by nick and charlie in the club were most likely hookers, why else would they go to that trouble if not to snag a couple tourists. I've been in asia for long periods and nearly all clubs have working girls so it's not uncommon.
