I hear you! I love this movie! it seems to get better the more times I see it! My favourite scene is when Charlie and Matsumoto are singing in the bar, and Matsumoto is wearing the sunnies! Very funny!

superb movie
the visual style is simply perfect
and the score is really really effective as well...and very moving with that little theme/melody that plays every so often..just moves me whenever i hear that

i love the way at the end it has the quick cut from showing those wooden spikes and then to mike walkin in with sato...i can't really think of something done in that exact kinda way...like they just didn't bother with a whole load of rubbish...overdoing the suspense...overdoing the fight scene....makin it cliche'd etc...or doing the whole "oh he's gonna kill him....yes he is...no he's not....is he gonna let him live??? good cop - bad cop....what's the right thing to do???? etc etc thing"....the way they did it was just really neat...and worked perfectly for me when i was watchin it....i loved it...and i absolutely love this movie.
Fantastic film! One of my favourites! Yeah, I agree about the spike scene, brilliantly done. Also, Sato has to be one of the best movie villains of all time, I love the look he gives to Michael Douglas when hes deciding whether to kill him or not. Andy Garcia was great in this film as well, the decapitation scene was very disturbing, although also, brilliantly done. I'd say this is the perfect cop/gangster/action movie and one of the best of the 80s, my favourite decade for movies.

shareI just watched Black Rain for the first time in 10 years. Seriously underrated movie. Just a beautifully crafted movie. The clash between cultures, philosophies, and methodologies made this film one of the best in its genre.

omg i just went out and bought it after seeing it a few days ago - i absolutely loved the movie - i know it has that 80s theme about it but who cares with such a great plot and brooding atmosphere - douglas, garcia and the oriental cast are all brilliant, i love the fish out of water feel to the movie
and that part when charlie has his head cut off - you really feel for the characters
a great film from one of my favourite directors

I love this film as well. Just a fun action thriller with great peformances, direction, cinematography and interesting story of differences between cultures.
