He carries the movie for the most part, and Garcia is the perfect counterweight to Douglas' brooding.

Agreed. I love the film, definitely one of Douglas' best and he and Garcia were great together.

Yep. Douglas & Garcia were a great cop duo. I only wish that ((spoiler alert)) Garcia's character has survived so that they could've done a sequel.
