I'm looking for more movies where American culture meets Japanese culture and vice versa.
So far I have:
Black Rain Mr. Baseball Gung Ho The Yakuza Last Samurai
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I enjoy watching movies about this topic quite a lot. Please only post JAPANESE culture meets American culture. So spare me the Jackie Chan Rush hour flicks. Hahahaha!
The Teahouse of the August Moon (1956) Sayonara (1957) Escapade in Japan (1957) Bridge to the Sun (1961) Hell in the Pacific (1968) Farewell to Manzanar (1976) (TV Movie) The Bad News Bears Go to Japan (1978) Shogun (1980) (TV mini-series) Empire of the Sun (1987) Come See the Paradise (1990)
None of these films are accurate and no US or western film will ever be. I am a German born and raised female married to a Japanese American fellow. And I can tell you this NO Caucasian or non Japanese,Chinese or Korean (the main ethic groups in Japan) will ever know or understand the culture as Japan is very prejudice toward Caucasians with those from the US and UK the most hated. I do not get much of that as I am German, speak read and write Japanese fluently and my Japan family there are not as bad as most but I will always be an outsider. 90% of Japanese will never let a Caucasian in fully never..Sad but true.
Dr.Nichole A. MD. AKA Nicki was here.
I never revisit posts or read PM's too mature to argue.
Umm okay... How do your posts have much to do with the OP's question? He is simply asking for American films that mix with Japanese culture. Not a question of there accuracy.
