I wouldn't notice much change except missing out on historical events, but technology wise, beside the internet, everything would be familiar, just improved or finding out certain things are extinct.
The first thing I'd notice would be people with a zombie like gaze staring into their smartphones whilst waiting for the bus or on the train, I’d rarely notice any of them converse with each other.
As I am from Western Europe, I’d most definitely notice the population change in my local city, with an influx of Sub Sharan Africans and people from South Asian walking the street, the influence of Islam (with women in full Burka) would be something I’d not of seen in 1985.
Turning on the radio I’d lament how shit the current mainstream music is, but I would enjoy modern video games though!
Other than CD's the tech was very different, mobile phones were huge and used mostly by professionals, video games were still mostly played in arcades, on home consoles like Atari, the graphics were shit but we didn’t know any better, TV’s were chunky and crap, I still own VHS recordings and the quality is shit compared with today’s high definition TV’s.
You’d definitely marvel at the tech if you travelled from 1985 to 2015.
you'd notice medicine changes. People w HIV/AIDS do not immediately die anymore. They now have a test for blood bank donations and a pill to even prevent HIV/AIDS.
The internet exists unlike in 1985. People still use faxes and postal mail but we also email
might be kinda disappointed MTV which used to be spoofed in teen movies bc it was so big in the 80's does not even show music videos now.
