my BIGGEST guilty pleasure show

Sure the facts were a little off, sure some episodes were cheesy...

but I just fell in love with the charm of the show. I love the rock-style opening credits, the montage sequences, the boys are ALL cute, Yvonne Suhor is my hero, Teaspoon is the man.... OH BOY! I love this show.

Also...

any of you who are knowledged in either "Friends" or "Dawson's Creek"...
the character of Lou was my first 'triangle' story I had ever seen. All up until the last season, Lou was the "Rachel Green" or "Joey Potter" of my life where I was left thinking: Will she end up with The Kid or Jimmy?

Also...

this was my first Baldwin experience on any entertainment medium. Everyone else always say that Alec Baldwin was the first Baldwin they had ever seen, but for me, as a 7-year-old little girl... it was all about Stephen Baldwin.

Also...

as a little girl, seeing this little woman (Lou McCloud) make a living in that horrid work life had such a great impact on me. She was riding along side the boys, carried a gun, had short hair, no make-up, slept in the same room as the boys, but still kept her sense of femininity. Sure it's kinda hokey now, but for me, it was a BIG deal.

In this age of push-the-limits dramas, gross out forensics shows, reality tv, and unfunny sitcoms... The Young Riders remains my greatest biggest bestest guilty pleasure show.

Of course I can never hope for a reunion and such, but I like to think that this show is a piece of treasure that I can take with me for all times!

What do you mean with that love triangle? I don't remember any feelings between Jimmy and Lou. i do remeber Jimmy's feelings for Emma though...

There were a bunch of episodes where there was tension between Kid and Jimmy over Lou. There was the one where that guy Roger and his daughter Daisy showed up (they were scam artists) and Daisy hid the ring that Kid had bought for Lou, and Kid and Jimmy got into a fistfight over it. Then there was the one where Lou, Kid and Jimmy had to transport a prisoner for hanging, but early on Kid got shot, and so Lou and Jimmy went on, and at one point he grabs her and kisses her. There were a few episodes with stuff like that. But there was only one episode where it appeared Jimmy had feelings for Emma, the one where they got stuck at that fort.
As for the first poster, I completely agree!!!I remember setting up the VCR when I was 11 to tape this, and I still watch those tapes. I have to do it sparingly because they're old--that's why I wish they'd put out DVDs. They finally did Northern Exposure, now they need to do my other favorite.

I absolutely loved this show. It's one of my all-time faves. I hope they release it on DVD one day soon.

<<but for me, as a 7-year-old little girl... it was all about Stephen Baldwin.>>

Yeah, same here. I was madly in love with Stephen back then. hehe.

Wow--I thought I was young at 11 watching this!!
I started off with Stephen Baldwin and Gregg Rainwater, but by the end it was 100% Josh Brolin--when I watch the reruns, it is still Josh Brolin for me. I have no idea what it is about this show (beyond the hotness of the guys) that still ropes me right in with the raptest of attention--if they put reruns back on regular TV I would be just as into it as I was 15 years ago.
If they release it on DVD I would have a heart attack from excitement!

I was 3 when the show started and when it ended when I was 5. I remember crying when Noah died and my drawing for art class that week was Kid, Lou and Teaspoon at K&L's wedding!!! As for all your aging video tapes, search some of the TYR fan sites and there are places you can get fellow fans to copy tapes for you at the cost of the tape. It can definately be a 'life saver'. I see Stephen Baldwin, Gregg Rainwater and Josh Brolin as the ones you all love, but you're forgetting the most important! TY MILLER!!!!!!! I've been in love with him since I was three! If any of you are interested you can still see him as 'Tech Agent' occasionally on the CBS drama, "Without a Trace" !!!

OMG! I was so upset when Noah died, too. That show made me a huge fan of his. Unintentionally, I followed his career. I watched SeaQuest and he was there, then I watched 7 days and he was there again.

I didn't know Ty was sometimes on that show. I'll check it out.

I was also seven when this show aired, but I couldn't watch it because we didn't have a TV for most my childhood. I noticed it on some station that I don't even think exists anymore. It was like USA or TNT, something like that. I saw the episode where Ike died-I taped it but the tape ran out just as Teaspoon was about to go into the room where Ike lay, then the next weekend I saw the to-be-continued episode and saw Buck was crying. Never knew what happened until a few years ago when I saw it again. Wasn't Kellie Williams from 'The Practice' in that episode as the girl that Ike took to that dance? I never knew Noah died, but saw him later on seaQuest and DSV as Commander Jonathan Ford.

I remember being so sad and upset when Ike died. He was so sweet! Same with Noah. I was so mad at the writers of the show. Up to that point I always thought that a main character of a show/movie never dies, they couldn't die! But I was wrong...it shattered me. The years that TYR was on the air that show was my life...it was the only show I had to see no matter what. (well that isn't entirely true, part of those years I was away at boarding school so I had to watch reruns during the summer) I had posters and pictures of the guy's on my wall and I dreamed that someday Buck would be mine! LOL I liked all the guys but I really had the hots for Buck. My best friends parents got me all excited once when they said they knew an indian family in Arizona with the last name Rainwater, I thought they were going to be the key for me to meet Gregg Rainwater and make him fall in love with me...how foolish was I? LOL
