Considered the point that the show went downhill by disenfranchising it's viewers by rewriting who principal Skinner is.
Even though I get how it pissed people off, I actually find it a pretty entertaining episode.

What season/episode is that? I probably haven't got that far yet. It was pretty good with some plot holes I think, but that's quite an old memory by now.

Anyway the episode itself was "fine" as far as the humor is concerned but the entire premise was dumb and pointless. Retconning a major supporting character to the point of contradicting things established in prior seasons for the sake of aone off episode was idiotic and insulting.
Its not that bad, people point to it as a jump the shark moment. But The Simpsons never really had one. It was a gradual decline.

Its funny that his name goes back to Skinner at the end of the episode and anyone who mentions his real name gets in trouble, lol.
In a season 15 episode (I, [Annoyed Grunt] Bot), Snowball II dies and then Lisa replaces her with another cat. That cat is named Snowball III and she also dies! Lisa replaces her with Snowball IV and Snowball IV also dies. Lisa gets another cat and names the cat "Snowball II", as if the events of the episode did not matter! Skinner comments on this and then Lisa calls him "Principal Tamzarian" as a comeback, lol.
