The President Wore Pearls - A Perfect episode?

I just saw this episode again last week for the first time in a very long time from years and years ago. I actually vaguely remember watching this when it premiered. The episodes got great jokes throughout. The opening act is very strong, and I really like that they did it as a tribute to Evita. Now some people might not like the musical aspect, which I understand. What some people also may not like is that the episode wraps up very quickly without what would be considered a proper third act, and I thought I wouldn't like that myself as I was watching it. It all went by quickly and I thought the story was tight with great jokes and some very memorable moments.

Anyways, what does everyone else think of this one? I think it holds up amongst the best of the golden age.

Just gonna say this now, someone is going to say it was bad because it's a Lisa-centered episode.

It's on channel 4 (in the UK) tonight as it happens.

If I'm home in time I will watch and report back

I thought that was a good episode.

Damn. And you gave Titanic, Friday the 13th, Ned's Declassified, Hey Arnold, and The Chipmunk Adventure all 1's.

I didn't like it.

reply

Got that.

Now for what reasons?

They call me the Mayor, 'Cause I spend all my days here

reply

Because I didn't find it funny, and I didn't like the musical aspect.

reply

I only managed to catch the 2nd half but I enjoyed it

reply

No, I didn't find it funny either, I mean the musical aspect I can take or leave, but to me, the humour just wasn't there!

reply

I like the songs better than the episode itself.
