When someone asks you if you like The Simpsons..

What do you say? If I could only answer with yes or no, I guess I'd have to say no. Because it's been total crap for most of its life, but those early years were pure gold

reply

Liked it when I was a kid. Still like it as an adult.

reply

Yes. I am constantly rewatching seasons 3-28.

Something wrong with 1 and 2?

reply

I don't find seasons 1 and 2 funny.

reply

Me neither. 1 and 2 are weird. The show definitely hit its stride at season 3.

If anyone would ever ask me, Yes.

I would say I like the first eight seasons the best but the laters seasons were good too. But around season 20 or so I grew burnt out.

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan

reply

Of course I say yes!! I don't know who would ask, though. Anybody who knows me knows I love this show.

Yeah the classic 1991-2000 episodes are still my favorites, but I'm in the minority of fans who also loves the 00s and 10s more modern ones too, long after most people think it jumped the shark.

I totally agree Season 1 and to a lesser extent even 2 were dull with a few gems and halfway decent ones mixed in. They got good and felt like the legit show once Homer's Walter Matthau voice stopped, lol. Like many other shows, they were still finding their place, and I think they were (kinda) more of a serious family sitcom early on, before they went full on comedy. A few of those were just flat out depressing and sad (like One Two Blowfish Blue Fish where Homer thinks he's dying, or Bart Gets Hit by a Car).
