My husband was one of the rescuers in episode 313
Though the acting may have been mediocre in many of the episodes, so too was the acting in most other shows at that time. It was par for the course.
What is being missed by several reviewers, is that these reinactments are about peoples lives. Someone had the worst day of their lives on what ever day, and another someone . . . maybe a stranger, maybe a loved one, maybe a "first responder" helped in some way to change the course of what could have been.
My husband (an off duty firefighter, working a second job at the time) helped a gentleman trapped in a burning vehicle. Though the vehicle had illegal explosives in the back, and kept exploding, throwing my husband back 20 feet or more, my husband kept returning to the vehicle because he felt like this man needed a) someone to do EVERYTHING that could be done, and b) if he were to die, he shouldn't die alone.
The man in the car lived, lost a leg. My husband finished his job that night (without going to the hospital to treat his burns), and today wears those burns up and down one of his arms.
In many of these episodes, someone puts their own lives on the line to aid someone else. Many times with bravery, many times with uncommon compassion, often with both.
Acting good? bad? mediocre? Who cares! Pay attention to the story.
