has anybody...

...been forever scarred from watching this show? Ever since my sisters and I saw that episode where the little boy gets caught in the escalator, we've been forever nervous of them. It's not like were afraid to go on them, we just make sure we know where we put our feet, check our shoe laces and our check pant legs.

I love this show- and loved the chair lift segment!!

I saw that one. I thought it was kind funny. This is gonna sound kinda sedistic but my favorite episodes are house fire episodes. What are yours?

When I was 9, I saw the episode where a little girl and her baby sister were alone when strangers broke in, and they hid under the bed. After that, I was always paranoid that someone was going to break into my house.

The show also made me paranoid of housefires when I was little. Darn show! It's making everybody scared of things!

I was scared of this show when I was 10 years old, but for some reason it was pretty interesting. I felt like I learned a lot from it. Listen, they did not intend to scare people. they just want people to learn about what dangerous things can happen in the world and how to avoid them. Also they want you to
learn what to do when serious situations (situations similar to what's been seen on this show) happen. I find it to be a significantly important learning tool.

I know that they didn't make the show to scare people, but ever since watching that escalator episode my sister and I have always been a little nervous of them. Like I said in my other post: It's not like were too terrified to ride one, were just conscious of our clothes getting caught in it, so we check our shoe laces and our pant legs. So you see, I have learned from this show. Better safe than sorry!

I was so scared of this show as a kid, and I still am sometimes. There was this episode where a boy was running with scissors and...you know what happens. I almost hurled.

I know! This show made me perenoid of housefires as a little kid and the one time I decided to let my guard down and buy a space heater for my room this past winter, it caught my ceiling on fire. But now that I'm older this show doesn't scare me anymore except for the horrible clothing and hair styles of the late eighties and early nineties!

Yes, some shows really did stick with me. Some that I remember include the one where the guy in his late teens or early twenties who dove into a pool that was too shallow and he broke/fractured his neck. He thankfully got surgery so that in his case, he wasn't paralyzed like a lot of other unfortunate people that break their neck or back.

I also remember the episode where the child was running with scissers (or was it a knife or two separate episodes?) and the inevitable happened.

The one where the teens were huffing Duster (computer cleaner), a type of inhalant, and one of the teens in particular got permanent brain injury and other neurological problems from it. That is very haunting especially since not only can inhalant use cause death but also permanent severe damage which one saw in that case. Very tragic case.

Here is a website to learn more about the dangers of huffing: National Inhalant Prevention Coalition http://www.inhalants.org

Edit: I do believe that the inhalant used (albeit All inhalants are destructive and deadly) was scotch guard. Thanks to the postee that pointed that out :)

I don't remember the teens huffing Duster, but I do remember them huffing Scotch Guard and Butane..and the teen inhaled the whole can of Butane, and died in the hospital as a result....

What are the purposes of signatures!!..

reply

The scotchguard + butane and the kid who died were two separate segments. The one who did scotchguard on top of butane survived with brain damage. The one died just did a whole can of butane.
