I always like the next scene where Sam is angry that he can't help his family, and runs through the cornfield.
The pep talk that Al gives him when he says it's 'Damn fair' and that he'd give anything to see his family one more time as Sam has, is an excellent piece of acting from Dean Stockwell. Al was such a happy-go-lucky and fun-loving character, you could forget how good Stockwell's serious acting could be.
