Darius McCrary's acting was really good....

In the Clarence episode. When Carl confronts Eddie about jumping into a stolen car, I love how disgusted Eddie is with himself. Eddie said something about, "God, my conscience was telling me not to get into the car, and I still did it. I knew it was wrong and I still went for it! What the hell was wrong with me!" Darius's performance was really good in this episode, and he portrayed Eddie's anger at himself succinctly... Good job to Darius!

It's like, cool. It's like, totally rad awesome!

He's a pretty good actor. Its just tragic now that he mostly protrays gangster roles now in movies and TV shows.

Are you being sarcastic? Or are you seriously convinced that his remorse was for real, and that he didn't try to dodge punishment from his father? His father was obviously not stupid enough to fall for his son's crap, so he punished his son anyways, and Eddie's irresponsible attempt to walk off scot-free failed. He was not at all remorseful for what he did, and I'd be very surprised and disappointed if anybody missed such an intentionally obvious subtext.

On the other hand, I do agree that Darius McCrary's acting on this show was pretty good. Eddie was immature, irresponsible, rebellious, and McCrary captured all of that very well.

No. Will Smith admitting there was no excuse to trick his girlfriend into fake marriage just to have sex with her was clearly him trying to get out of punishment by Uncle Phil. He was even smiling! Eddie, on the other hand was angry and disgusted with himself for willingly getting into a stolen car...

I remember that Fresh Prince episode. Will regretted what he did, and confessed everything to Uncle Phil. He was ready for punishment, but not really eager to be punished. So when Phil said he wasn't going to punish Will, well Will was obviously not gonna disagree, until Phil warned him he won't punish him yet, but is preparing for a more fitting and horrible punishment, and that Will should be afraid.

The Fresh Prince series liked to deconstruct the cheesier routines of the other sappy family sitcoms of its time. That's why they played that episode out more humorously.

As for the Family Matters scene. Eddie kept interrupting his father to take control of the conversation away from him, and then attempted to walk off without punishment. Carl was not so easily fooled, and managed to stop him before he left through the door. Why did you think Eddie was startled when Carl called him as he reached the door? If he really was genuinely guilt-ridden, where was the prerequisite heartwarming sappy music and family hug?

The presentation, the subtext, the actions and the script all point to Eddie's last-ditch attempt to dodge punishment. No matter how you see it, audiences were not meant to mistake his act as genuine remorse and feel any sympathy for him.

You should watch the episode again.
