Must suck for JoMarie Paton that the DVD box covers emphasize Urkel.

On the box covers of the six seasons of "Family Matters" that have so far been released on DVD, Steve Urkel is photo'd in a magnifying presence while the rest of the cast is in the background. Given the fact that the show was not titled "Urkel Matters" or anything of that nature, and that the show was a spinoff of "Perfect Strangers" which she originated from, that's kind of messed up. The cast of "Everybody Loves Raymond" is photo'd the same way on the DVD box covers, the only difference being that Ray is also in the background with the rest of the cast. Naturally that's understandable, since it was his show. But for "Family Matters," the box cover photos should've been in the style of all sitcoms where the cast is equally a vital contribution to the show. Oh well, at least JoMarie Paton is still getting residuals for the DVD sales. So she should count her lucky stars, despite the fact that on the DVD box covers, she and the cast look like ants, compared to Jaleel White.

I was about to post about that too. Steve wasn't supposed to be a main character, not even appearing in the opening credits until several seasons in. It's not fair to put him up front as if the rest of the cast is just supporting. Family Matters was an ensemble, but if anybody was the star it was Reginald VelJohnson, he was credited first during the theme song.

Also Reginald Veljohnson was the only one in every episode

Lets be honest her. Urkle became the star and always going to surpass anyone in merchandise.

I agree. I don't know why people complain about it. It's common knowledge that White became the breakout star on the show.

Because it was never supposed to be like that in the first place? Are you honestly confused by this?
