Family Still Matters

This is my own version of what happened after the Events of the series finale Lost in Space

In the sequel to Family Matters taking place 20 years after the events of the series finale Lost in Space, there have been lots of changes in the Winslow home since that time has passed. Carl is now a police commissioner who is on the verge of retirement but wonders how he would adjust to civilian after being a police officer for so long. Harriette is now the Vice President of Ferguson’s but finds the work no longer fulfilling like she once did and would like to spend more time with Carl but the both of them have been very busy with their careers that they haven’t had much time for each other which has put a strain on their marriage. Estelle passed away some time after Steve and Laura’s wedding from natural causes which was very hard on Carl since there was no longer a matriarch in the family and Harriette did her best to take over the role as a way of providing some stability but had a hard time with fulfilling that role.
Steve and Laura did end up ending married and having their daughter Stephanie Lorraine Urkel and have been happy with their lives now that Steve finally fulfilled his dream of being a famous inventor and scientist but finds out the sad news that his parents who he somehow finally managed to have a decent relationship after many years of estrangement with them passed away while in a car accident in Russia. Steve finds the past a little hard to let go of since his parents were very neglectful towards him for most of his life and fears that he might make the same mistake with his daughter even though Laura assures that he has been the best possible father there is and has taught Stephanie to be a kind and generous person. Steve and Laura also face the empty nest syndrome when Stephanie decides that she wants to go out of college out of state feeling like she wants to be known as her own person rather than the daughter of Steve and Laura Urkel.
Steve and Laura also receive an invitation for their 20 year high school reunion and find out that Myra who was committed to a psych ward after the events of the finale tragically passed away which hurts Steve considering that Myra was his first love sending him into a depression and Laura decides to see someone who might be able to help him being her ex boyfriend Curtis who was Myra’s cousin. Curtis reveals that it took Myra a long time to get over Steve but eventually came to the realization that her obsession with him was going too far and got herself help for her addiction and found a man that loved her very much but it was never the same.
Rachel and Richie were reunited after the events of Deck the Malls and stayed in Detroit along with long forgotten Judy Winslow who was staying with her aunt after the events of Estelle’s wedding to Fletcher who has also since passed away while she was in college but the trio did appear at Steve and Laura’s wedding. Jerry Jamal Jamison was reunited with birth mother after she was finally able to get off the drugs and find a stable job but still kept in touch with the Winslows and Richie was even his best man at his wedding to Gwendolyn. Eddie is now a police Captain who married the love of his life Greta and became a father as well but ended up having no biological children due to his wife having fertility issues but they decided to adopt. Maxine ended up reunited with Waldo after many years apart after she found out that he was now a famous chef despite his somewhat low intelligence.
