What was the last great season of COPS in your opinion?
I thought Season 17 was the last truly great season of COPS.
shareI thought Season 17 was the last truly great season of COPS.
shareThere's not a whole lot of excessively bad seasons of the show. If I had to guess, Season 25 (the last season on FOX) might be the last great season. For the Spike/Paramount era, Season 27 was probably their best season. That was the season I started watching the show regularly.
shareI liked Season 27 much better than Season 26 although it's not in the same league as the earlier seasons on FOX, I didn't care much for Seasons 21-23 at all, I thought Seasons 24-25 were an improvement though.
shareSeasons 21-23 were all pretty much the same IMO. There were interesting segments, but these seasons were pretty average. Whoever picks up the series next hopefully are a little more old-fashioned segment-wise.
shareI like to see the diversity of the crimes of the earlier seasons again, too many episodes seem to focus on domestic violence/dispute calls, traffic stops will they find drugs, etc.
shareOut of curiosity, what makes for a good season of COPS? I've only watched the show every now and then over the years and I never took note of much consistency or theme in what they were doing. Do they follow the same groups of cops, or set the seasons in particular cities or districts or something?
shareI thought some seasons had more memorable, interesting episodes than others, I felt the earlier seasons had more diversity of crimes and incidents which made the show more memorable.
shareAlmost every ep i've seen is just pulling over cars for drug possession. Sometimes you get a runner.
shareSeems like a quarter episodes from the later seasons seems to focus on people getting pulled over & then getting arrested for drug possession, I'm getting a little burnt out by these episodes.
