Wonder How Many Times
Wonder how many times they actually pull somebody over during all the time the cameras are with them and the people have nothing.

shareI'm sure it happens, but won't be entertaining. It'd be like pulling someone over for making an illegal right turn.
shareIt might be entertaining for people who like to see cops make mistakes and fail.
shareI think it would be a brilliant show to get all of the non-aired Cops material. You could show the chases were the guys get away. Or the ones where they don't find the stash or whatever. There could be an "excessive violence" section or a "petty crimes" where the cops arrest someone for a minor offense after promising that their best move was to "be honest".
I, for one, would find it genius if done well. It's probably impossible to get the footage cleared legally, but I hope they save all that film for the eventual use. There's bound to be some funny stuff after so many years f filming so many people. It's not even from a hatred of all things police, it's just that all they ever show are the "success" stories.
I thought the show could be called "Robbers" (like Cops and Robbers) but nobody seems to get it.
Brilliant post!
I would definitely watch that.
Hell, they don't even have to do a whole show, just do an episode... Cops: FAILURE Edition.
The only thing is, the UNSUCCESSFUL busts most likely far outweigh what we actually see, so there's probably a gagillion hours of footage. I volunteer to edit it together if they ever get around to doing it but damn it'd be hard work.

Shuji Terayama forever.
I've often wondered about that myself. For every interesting case, how many absolute snoozers are left on the cutting room floor? Obviously their jobs aren't always so interesting, or they wouldn't look so bored/sedated most of the time.
shareThere are actually a couple episodes like that where the guy does something and the cops let them go. You would have to watch the entire series, at this point, to see those.
Better watch out, better start crying. Better hurry up, run and hide. Krampus is coming to town! >:)
