Cops Love Doughnuts
Everyone knows how much cops love doughnuts especially if they are free. Has a chain of doughnut shops ever sponsored the show "Cops" nationally or locally?

shareNo they don't moron. The cop/donut thing came about when the only business open late at night were coffee shops that sold donuts. There wasn't 24 hour convenience stores and fast food places back in the day. If the only thing open back in the day were Cleaners would you be saying cops like starch?
shareA few years ago I lived next to a Dunkin' Donuts in Paterson, NJ. There were cops there around the clock. There were many other local establishments open 24 hours. But local law enforcement really liked the free coffee and doughnuts.
shareI was just commenting on the origin of cops and donuts and those shops usually give them free coffee and donuts and with cops there, they won't get robbed!
shareI grew up in Santa Clara County, N. California and back in the
80's and 90's many 7-11 stores would post a sign on the front
window which read, "free coffee to law enforcement officers."
This practice was done of course to thwart any possible
armed robberies from taking place. To the best of my knowledge
this sign appeared only on store fronts of 7-11 stores and
not for Circle K or mom 'n pop convenience stores. Really
have no idea if the signs helped to prevent any crimes or
not.

This is funny because on a recent episode the cop told the perp: "You don't hide from cops in a donut shop..." or something like that
shareI actually watched that episode today. Came out at 3:00 EST on Spike!
Better watch out, better start crying. Better hurry up, run and hide. Krampus is coming to town! >:)
