Hoo boy, and I thought the Zelda cartoon was crappy.... it actually makes you unhappy to see the likes of Simon Belmont and Mega Man teaming up to fight the deadliest video game villains, an idea that pretty much only works on paper. I'd like to 'punch-out' whoever chose those voice actors with my Power Glove.
Anyways, good review.... and the LOTR bit may be the most random NC moment yet.
Just watched his review and it was funny as usual. I am glad that I never watched this show as a child. I am appalled at how bad this show was. There's nothing about it that you could change to make it better. The voice acting was bad, the stories were bad, the animation was bad, the whole premise was bad.
Only videogame fanboys like you with nothing else going on in their adult life would be offended by a cartoon from 1989 that actually succeeded in entertaining a lot of kids back then.
Eh, I've never seen this as a kid, but what a crappy way to promote Nintendo products. Low and behold, they have the power glove! Another crappy product that barely worked but made it out to be better than it actually was. And what's with gaying up Simon? He was awesome in video games (I get what the NC was trying to say about the cape, whip, etc.), but they made him seem weak.
I don't know why they even bothered promoting the NES and Gameboy. It was around this time when the Sega Genesis was starting to become popular due to its 16-bit format (in which the NES was only 8-bit) and shortly thereafter the Super Nintendo. But all in all, a great review. I'm glad I didn't waste my childhood watching this horrible T.V. show.
I do wish he had brought up the comic version of Captain N which was vastly superior. They dropped a lot of the characters and brought in Samus Aran instead.
