I might be wrong and it might be great(the new series is written by the original writers)but I think that this has had its time and was never as good as it thought it was anyway.
I am not saying I did not sometimes enjoy it first time round, it did and Linda Robson has always done something for me but I reckon that this will be 8 episodes and cancelled again.

I was wondering why they were bringing it back and didn't have high hopes for it being any good but it kept me fairly amused. I swear Dorien has looked the same for over two decades, LOL.

i'm happy to see it back. somehow it never changes and still ends up as the same situation, sharon and doren needling each other and tracy getting fed up. it works well. even dorien's face hasn't changed. i'm sure it won't last past the episodes already filmed but it doesn't really matter either way, it's amusing filler

They brought it back because of the massive success the stage show received.
Critics loved it and the tour was extended massively to sell out audiences.
It was this resurgence in popularity that brought on the suggestion of a new series as they didn't anticipate the reaction the stage version got.
Having seen the stage version, people were giving standing ovations as it was genuinely laugh out loud funny.
Hopefully this will translate to the new series but judging by the first episode it did as I was laughing out loud.
I liked the new episode other than them writing it as Sharon & Tracey hadn't spoke to Dorien for years. As a big fan of the original series I didn't find it believable that they wouldn't talk to her for years hell she didn't even know Travis.
But other than that it was funny and I look forward to the other episodes.
