If Maroon Wants To Blackmail Acme Why Does He Show Roger The Photos?

WFRR is such a masterpiece, but if Maroon really wanted to blackmail Acme, why does he allow Roger to see the damning Patty-cake photos?
Surely once Roger’s seen them, Maroon has nothing left to blackmail Acme with.

Or is this something like a homage to the Big Sleep where Eddy Mars’ failure to recognise Carmen in Geiger’s house is never explained either...

Maybe human/toon relationships were considered taboo, and if the owner of toon town was caught playing "patty-cake" with a toon, and the wife of a tv star at that, then it could be a serious problem for him.

As far as showing Roger the pictures, there probably wasn't real logical reason to do that if blackmail is the real motive. However I think Doom ordered Maroon to do that, so it create a motive for Roger to kill Acme, making easier to frame him for the murder.
