Check it out - 'Waxwork' remake/update fan script

8/20/2005

For those of you who like to read fan fiction scripts online, there's one for "Waxwork" you can read. It's somewhat of a remake of the movie, keeping most of it intact, but there are many visible changes. Added in scenes, explanations for plot holes in the actual movie and an alternate ending are among the things you'll find in it, as well as new takes on the Werewolf and the Count displays that pay homage to the classic Universal takes on the characters in the Golden Age of horror movies.

To check it out, go here to read it:

And remember, folks - this is only a fan script. It's just for reading, for those who like reading fan fiction.

Wow, it's catching on. Thanks for reading it, guys.

And there are three answers to your question, kensdal:

#1.) I liked the idea of having the victims get their souls back after the characters were destroyed. Remember, once they came to life again, their fatal injuries were gone (such as Tony's bullet wound), so when their wax character died, they'd be restored to normal.

#2.) Not everyone survives at the end. Like in the movie, Mr. Lincoln, Hans, Junior, Inspector Roberts, Detective Bellon (Roberts' originally nameless partner from the movie), Sir Wilfred and the eighteen Waxwork characters (save for the severed Zombie hand, like in the film) all died, as well as most of the victims of the wax displays and various hunters Sir Wilfred brought with him. Only the seven main characters (Mark, Sarah, Tony, etc.), a handful of hunters, three policemen and a few of the displays' other nameless victims made it out alive. Isn't the death toll in the story big enough without them being added to it?

#3.) I actually had an idea for an original sequel after the events of this fan script. It's totally different from "Waxwork II: Lost in Time", because I didn't like that movie. At all.

Hope that answered your questions.
