Does this mean that this took place in a world where the Invisible Man,


docsavage80: Okay, the premise of the film is that Lincoln stole 18 mementos and pieces of the homes of foul people who had lived in the past so that they could live again.

So does this imply that in this world's history, not only was Jack the Ripper and the Marquis de Sade real, but a werewolf, the Frankenstein Monster, the Hunback of Notre Dame, the Phantom of the Opera, the nutty zombies from Hell, the Invisible Man, Mr. Hyde, the It's Alive baby, Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors, etc. were all real? Well, since it takes place in a world with a real Satan/The Devil, I guess so, but these characters must have been active on this Earth before 1948 (Lincoln steals mementos then).

I think (read IMHO) that the trinkets Lincoln had were from real "evil" people, and by using them in the displays, he could conjure up whatever the display depicted.

At least that's what I tell myself to make the story more "real"...

Waaaay too late to be replying to this, considering how long ago it was posted, but not only was Jack the Ripper real... Marquis de Sade was real too. Now the question is... are you real?
