A Role in 'Twins'
I was Marshall Bell's stand-in during the final scene of "Twins". I set-up the shoot out and scene where Arnold and Devito releases the chain that buries (Bell). I had previous background experience doing silent-bits and commercial print work before standing in on "Twins". I was a background performer on another Marshall Bell show "The Oldest Rookie" prior to "Twins".
The final scene, in "Twins", was shot in an oil refinery in Carson, Ca. That was many years ago but, I still remember the cold cement floor. The set-up was long. The chain was powdered plastic. It looked like steel. It was fun working that movie. I got a chance to meet the stars and their stand-ins. This was a little better extra role than what I regularly did. Although, I did a romantic scene, as an extra, in a television show-about a year later. Never know what you will be asked to do as a background performer. My son was recently a Military advisor on "E-Ring" for an episode. I noticed Marshall Bell had a role in that series. What a strange family connection to "Bell"...just a coincidence I guess. I Never again worked with Bell after "Twins". I stopped working as a background performer in the 1990's.
I am a bit curious. I never knew whose body was under that chain in "Twins". I know I set-up that scene for a long time. Was that me, Marshall Bell, or somebody else. It looked like me. I was wearing the same wardrobe as "Bell" but it could have been him in the final scene of the movie. Probably it is.
It has been sort of a personal curiosity for years. I was wondering if there was anybody out there that has first hand knowledge; like a crew member of the production staff of "Twins", A.D's, etc.who could settle my own curiosity once and for all.
Whose actual body was under that chain at the end of "Twins".
I will lose no sleep waiting for an answer. This is not a biggy! Just curious.
