I just finished watching "Twins" and noticed that Sylvester Stallone is the first name listed under the "Special Thanks" in the end credits. Anyone know why he would be thanked for this movie? As far as I can remember, he wouldn't really have any connection to any of the actors/crew as of 1988, when the film was released.
they're thanking stallone not only for being a good sport when arnold bags on his arms, but... for the fact that stallone allowed them to use the image of RAMBO, which would be hard to do because of copyrights, etc.
The two were friends...they opened Planet Hollywood together, remember? As mentioned, they had different physiques through their mutual interest in bodybuilding: Stallone was ripped whereas Arnold was massive. I guess it was kind of an in-joke between two buddies.

Actually, in the 80s, they did not like each other. Understandable as they are both vain egomaniacs vying for the same types of jobs, but by and by they buried the hatchet.
Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not - Oscar Wilde
Clearly, there was an element of competition between these two actors playing roles in different films of a similar genre - a competitive element further hyped by the media which ultimately makes you think they dislike each other.
Here's a pic of Stallone, Arnie, and Frank Columbo
Actually Schwarzenegger f____ed Stallone's missus, and in revenge Stallone paid for the legal defence of a man Schwarzenegger was suing for calling him a Nazi. They probably just put it in for a joke.
It is highly unlikely that Schwarzenegger and Stallone disliked each other in the '80s given that Franco was a mutual friend of theirs.
Stallone was generally good to Arnold in the press, but Arnold totally went after Stallone. There's a whole chapter devoted to it in the bio by Wendy Leigh. Check out what he said about Stallone in his interview with Playboy. http://www.flixster.com/actor/arnold-schwarzenegger/arnold-schwarzeneg ger-interview But of course Arnold buried the hatchet - after he became a bigger star than Stallone.
Ripped means defined, with muscles being vivsibly seperated from each other. Massive just means muscles that have a whole lot of size.
Tobey Maguire (post-transformation in Spider-Man) was ripped. Michael Clarke Duncan was massive. _______ "The sun is shining...but the ice is slippery."
for the fact that stallone allowed them to use the image of RAMBO, which would be hard to do because of copyrights, etc.
That's not how copyrights work. There is no law against referencing a published work like the movie First Blood by showing the poster for the movie.

That makes at least 3 movies where Arnold/Stallone reference each other: Twins - Arnie looks at Stallone on a poster and laughs Last Action Hero - Stallone is The Terminator in that universe Demolition Man - Stallone and Bullock talk about the Schw... Presidential Library
I came here just to ask about this "Thanks to" thing. They did not get along in the 80s. I think the studio thanked him because Stallone allowed them to make that joke. Even though certainly portrays him in a bad way, albeit jokingly. I respect Stallone all the more for that. -------------------------------------------- I own you.

Exactly. Agreed.
Stallone & Schwartzenegger did not get along in the '80s, they were competitors.

They have had a friendly rivalry for decades. According to most accounts they have always been friends. They tend to always drop little reference to each other in their movies.
