Nice little touch I just noticed watching the Blu Ray...

Maybe I never noticed it before because I'm used to watching it on cable or regular TV where the image is cropped but right before the alley fight when Kieth David throws the money to Piper it lands right in the empty cardboard box he's carrying.

Nothing big but pretty cool noticing it for the first time.

reply

Agreed. And it doesn't seem planned, either, like Carpenter told Keith David to land them in the box.

I think David's just that good.

Yeah they don't comment on it in the commentary like, "It took take after take to get him to do that." so it was probably "Just throw the money at his feet." and it just happened to go in the box. And if that's the case no one even broke character which is even cooler.

reply

What would have been even cooler would be if they gave any explanation as to why David tracked down someone he thought was responsible for the murder of dozens of innocent people in order to give him his week's pay.

I know this is an old comment but I think Frank assumed that Nada's shooting spree was vengeance for the police raid on the poor people's camp site. Remember Frank had already mentioned to Nada that he'd love to take out his anger on the rich, so he probably sympathised with Nada on some level despite knowing full well that he went too far.

"Brother, life's a bitch...and she's back in heat."

Reminds me of the bit in Stir of Echoes when Kevin Bacon, after digging up his backyard, nonchalantly kicks a nearby bucket and it crashes through one of the windows of his house, and he just carries on like nothing happened. As a result they left it in because it looked so good.
