What would you do if you were Rex?

Without knowing your fate, would you have drank the coffee? Would you just walk away not knowing what happened to Saskia?

Or, would you go for a third option I thought of which is to capture and torture Raymond until he gives up Saskia's location? Rex says he doesn't want to punish Raymond, but I can certainly imagine being willing to go to jail for torturing or murdering my wife's killer. I'm not sure if this is what I'd do, but it would have entered my mind if I was in Rex's position.

As soon as he knew his name and where he lived he should have exited the car and made straight for the police. Once arrested, the police can find out all kinds of things such as where he habitually goes and what he does. Definitely never just go along with what the sociopath wants to do.

But the killer says he doesn't have any proof against him, so the police wouldn't do anything, right?

Rex has numerous postcards from the killer. If he went to the police they would definitely treat him as a suspect. Possibly have closer look at his secluded country house.

Yes but I think the killer would have tought about it to just look like a crazy guy, he wasn't stupid.

A small detail which no one noted is that after the killer meets Rex, all along the drive and all along their conversations, not even once does the killer tell Rex " you will not die , i will let you go " , he only says " you will find out what happened to her " , which is very interesting cuz in that situation that is probably the first thing you'd say to convince someone , i thought that was very well done cuz at least the killer didn't lie lol
