The best line from the film?

"And all this time, I thought you had died." --Rex

I love this line because it shows how deranged he has become. He is only worried about the abductor's life rather than Saskia's.

"For me, Mr. Hofman, dying is not the worst thing ." Raymond Lermone

This line proves that Lermone indeed is evil reincarnated.

Ha. That was good. This really makes me want to read the book by Tim Krabbe.

When Rex was talking to the mini-mart manager, thinking they'd find the (then theoretical) kidnapper's fingerprints on a coin:

"we must keep track of all the change until the police come"

"I need to make myself weaker, not the trailer heavier"

"Don’t you know Lieneke’s Law? Relationship Law #1: ‘Getting over the separation lasts half the time the relationship did.’ So I’ll be over it in 4 months." - Lieneke
