I'm sorry but I saw this movie on the Lifetime movie network and she does a really bad job in this movie, I don't know if she's a bad actress or if this just wasn't her best work. The emotional scenes with her arguing and crying, were really over acted, and at times it seemed as if she were reading striaght from the script.

I disagree - I found her performance really moving, it struck just the right note of brittle vulnerability. Plus, she's really beautiful in a plausible girl next door sort of way. Overall, it's one of the saddest films I've ever seen and surely a candidate for best tv movie ever.
Yeah right! If she's so good, why didn't she hardly do anything since? ANd yes the movie ends really sad, but it's not cause of the acting. I took acting classes and acted in plays and still do, I know a bad actress when I see one. You guys are probably just going by how she looks and sorry but looking good and being a good actress isn't the same thing. And what did she do at the end to make you cry, all she did was kill herself, there was no emotional lines or anything! The lady who played her mom made me cry when she was crying over what happened to her daughter, but not Joanna Lee, sorry but she's not a good actress, and this although it's sad and true, is nowhere near the greatest tv movie.

It is always the same. You know a bad actresses when you see one BECAUSE you took SOME acting classes.
THEN all knowing WHAT have you done with your acting skills?
You know that opinions are like A holes! We ALL have one and are entitled to them.
Whether or not you think some acting classes gives you more authority (in your head) over what is someone else's opinion doesn't make your opinion any more right or wrong than their opinion and vice versa.
Every actresses/actor/director/etc has someone always posting in their message board saying they are the worst ever or they are bad. What is even more ironic is that how many of these people claim they know more than others. It has all been done and said before.
MAYBE MAYBE she doesn't want to act anymore. Huh?
She was a sculpter and a married woman with 2 children.
If you don't have much to begin with, then you don't have much to lose. So, please use your brain!
I bought mine from seller Mustang1 on Loudfrog.com. It's on DVD, perfect quality, and commercials edited out. Just got to Loudfrog.com and search for Shattered Innocence. She also delivers fast.
Were you drinking while watching this movie? I just saw it on the Oxygen network and was so distracted by her poor performance that I started seeing the movie as a comedy! Either Joanna is an awful actress or she must have been actually performing as the real porn star Shauna Grant would have acted in her adult films. Porn stars are always terrible actors, right? No wonder Joanna didn't get any more films!! She was awful!!
I hadn't seen this movie in 15 years, and they just showed it yesterday on Lifetime.
The ending was lame. Her shooting herself seemed hasty. It didn't seem like she did it because she had been depressed for a long time with suicidal thoughts, it was more like she shot herself right then and there because she was having a bad day. People don't lie in bed one day for 5 minutes thinking about how there life sucks and then shoot themselves over it. It doesn't work that way. Not most of the time, anyway. They never once gave hints that she was suicidal. I thought the ending was rushed and thrown together.
And why did they choose to make a movie about this woman? I've never even heard of her. What, she did a few porns and photo shoots. What made her worthy of getting a movie made about her life?
she maybe a bad actress but shes very preaty and i think shes a better actress then the famous jho she had tears coming out of her eyes when she cried how many times did jho have tears coming out of her eyes when she cried in her movies in fact jho only did good acting in one movie and still couldnt cry right when she had to it was just smeared makeup

Just saw it on LMN and you are right. Jonna Lee's performance was horrendous and not only that but she's ugly as crap! She didn't have the body, face or charisma too pull off this role.
She really over did the coke scenes with the stopped up nose and whiney voice.
I didn't think she was horrible or wonderful. She did some scenes campy, but her final scene was very believable and very heart-wrenching. I thought she portrayed the part she was supposed to play: a naive, trusting, teenage girl who like many teens want both: to be an adult but want the safety of being a child also.
It wasn't Oscar-worthy in all, but I thought she did well. And I did think she was pretty enough for the part.
