It was a blast seeing it on the big screen.

Now that you ask, since everyone else would roll their eyes if I said this without being prompted (or maybe you will, too), when Murray pointed and said, "You, who was makin' noise through the whole movie!", he was pointing at me. The other 50 people there started staring at me, grinning. I was only 13 so my face went pretty red.
"If I had ya where I wanted ya, they'd be pumpin your ass full of formaldehyde!"
That is an awesome story mcfly lol.
shareI saw it when I was 8, with my brother and cousins. I remember my parents going to see A fish called Wanda at the same time, in the same cinema. Great movie, maybe my favourite Christmas movie ever.
shareCinemark had a special of this and a few other Christmas movies last year,so I finally got to see this film on the big screen.
"Our cows make a decent living wage, so please, no tipping."
Sadly not. It was one of the first films I hired when we got our first video player in 1990 though. Loved it then and love it now.
shareI saw this at the theater opening night on(or very near) 23 Nov, 1988. I was at my parents house on leave from the Air Force and I just had to get out of the house and go do something. Anyway, I called a high school buddy and went and picked him up in my brand new 1988 red Honda Accord DX hatchback-manual transmission, 98 horsepower lol. We went to Kansas City's(or Independence, MO)Blue Ridge Mall cinema, which had two cinemas(one in the mall and one across the street from the mall. Both are gone now.
Anyway, that was back when going to the movies during a holiday season was a must. We usually saw everything that came out. Not only did I see Scrooged and Cocoon 2 but I remember seeing Child's Play earlier that month.
Unfortunately, a few days after thanksgiving I had to go back down to Tinker Air Force Base and grab a military flight over to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for an AWACS deployment. So basically, in a short period of a few days I went from Oklahoma City to Kansas City back to Oklahoma City and then flew to Riyadh Saudi Arabia. I stayed in downtown Riyadh for 2 months at the hotel Al-Yammah lol.
Shall we play a game?
Yes. A bunch of friends & I went. I was in jr high when this came out.

I originally saw it in a mall theater in Joliet, IL when I was 16 with my best friend at the time about two weeks before Christmas 1988. We also saw "Twins" the previous day at the same theater; this was back when it was much more affordable to go to the movies on a regular basis. Oh; I should have mentioned we greatly enjoyed both films...
"...And on this farm he had an igloo..."
I was 26.
I did.
I used to go to the movies all the time when films were good and it was affordable.
We used to go to the afternoon showings when it was only $5.
I miss those days.
