This film is dedicated to the brave Mujahideen fighters of Afghanistan

Did the film ever actually end with that statement? There seems to be an urban legend that at the end of the film it was dedicated to the Mujahideen and was later changed to "the gallant people of Afghanistan", however I have what I think is the original VHS and it still says "gallant people of Afghanistan" so therefore if it ever did say "Brave Mujahideen" it had to have been during the theatrical run, can anyone clear this up for me?

reply

Yeah, I clearly remember seeing a torrented version few years ago and it was dedicated to the brave Mujahideen fighters.

reply

Yeah it had to have been in theaters or maybe they showed the "Mujahideen" version on TV shortly after it came out on video, but the really really old VHS version does actually say "Gallant People of Afghanistan", or maybe this is just the mandala effect kind of like how people think Vader said "Luke I am your father"

reply

If I recall correctly it did. I think the end credits of the James Bond movie The Living Daylights did the same thing. I could be wrong, though.

Bond did also fight with the Mujahideen but I don't see any evidence of the film being dedicated to them. The Mujahideen were not the main focus like they were in Rambo III.

reply

You are most likely correct. I didn't see anything about it with the Bond film. I'm getting old and getting my movies mixed up.
