What's that?
It's a blue light.
What does it do?
It turns blue.

From what I heard, blue light allows you to use it in the dark, but without ruining your sharper night vision.

When I first saw this at maybe age 10 or 11 I couldn't help but think, "well now you have one fewer blue lights..."

So the Russians would see it and shoot at at their own man in the dark, since none of their men have glow sticks.

you're thinking of red light... you put a red filter over your flashlight and it won't ruin your night vision very much.

For some reason I felt compelled to check if someone had commented on this classic scene. Still one of the funniest moments in celluloid history. Never fails to crack a giggle or two.
