That part where they're beneath the fort in those caves. Do you think that's a homage to the cave scene in First Blood where Rambo is trying to find his way out?
The director was a guy named Peter MacDonald. Seeing since he didn't direct much else, do you think Sly Stallone actually took the helm for this movie (as was rumoured)?
Who were the actors who played the head bad guy and Rambo's guide? This seems to be their only notable Hollywood roles. Anyone have any info on them?
Why do you think this movie has never been well received? It seems to be a well put together action film.
I am Djour Djilios. could you spell that please? I don't think so. Try it with a "D".
1. I never noticed that but now that you mention it I would guess that it was indeed.
2. I'm almost certain he did. I can't remember what happened between Sly and the original director. But they weren't on the same page. Stallone had shown he was a great director with the Rocky movies and his ego was at an all time high during this time so I'm sure this movie was all his. Every frame of this film was shot the way he wanted it.
3. No information from me. Surely they have done something else. But if not Rambo III is an awesome only Hollywood credit.
4. This is one of life's greatest mysterious to me. I don't know if I buy the excuse of "bad timing" with the war pretty much ending just as the movie was released. Do people really care about the current events when involved with their entertainment? WW II was long over when those movies saw a comeback in the late 90's. Hell it had been over a decade since Vietnam when Rambo: First Blood Part II dropped. Then again those were American wars so people were easily drawn to those movies. Hell I have no clue. You certainly can't say lack of action. Die Hard did better than Rambo III and has almost no action in comparison.

Same here. I guess you could say audiences were maybe bored of Rambo by then. This movie is criminally underrated and will continue to be so. Maybe it will get a cult following in the coming years?
How many a$$holes we got on this ship, anyhow?! reply share

I think he released it too late by the time the film was coming out, the Soviets had begun there withdrawal from Afghanistan. Soviet's and American were trying to resolve issues. Plus the Soviet Union was beginning to breakup.
