This Ruined Rambo

First Blood was the only good movie in Rambo. First Blood 2 was okay; but honestly this movie just ruined it. First Blood's role of a one man army was fine as it was plausible in its ways. Rambo 3 was not at all plausible! Seriously Rambo should have died every second of the movie. Rambo's dialogue was also terrible. They wanted him to sound bad*** but it just ruined Rambo. Sure he is a bad*** but he is not a bulletproof, unstoppable force bad***. Most of you will say its a movie and he's a one man army. But come one its ridiculous. For gods sake a Russian Helicopter shoots its machine gun at Rambo and he is hit in the leg. Last time I checked most helicopters have .50 caliber machine guns; so if he was shot in the leg; well Rambo would be missing a leg. But according to this fake movie, he is able to walk and run around still. Thank you First Blood for creating Rambo, Rambo 3 for ruining it, and The Expendables for giving Stallone the edge he needed.

clearly you seem like the moron who thinks someone is a phag (spelled incorrectly) it has an f in it, moron. First Blood was the only plausible movie which made the suspense perfect. 2 and 3 introduced an unstoppable killing machine which made the movie boring to watch as you know Rambo will never be harmed. Whats the point of watching a movie about one man killing hundreds, with no plot unless you were deranged and into seeing people get torn apart. Movies are for entertainment, and if seeing people dying is how you get entertainment well I have some tips for you; don't have children, don't get married, and seek psychiatric help immediately.

The best part of the movie was shooting down a Soviet chopper with his deadly explosive arrow!

haha he was a Vietnam vet that was the grizzled, post traumatic style they wanted dumbbutt. Defend this Rambo when everyone here will say First Blood was the best except maybe little teenage boys who like explosions more than a telling story. By the way, how old are you? I know plenty good action flicks; Apocalypse Now (Action with great story), Saving Private Ryan (Action with great story), Avatar, Inception, Pulp Fiction, The Dark Knight, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Lord of the Rings, Terminators, Scarface, Kick-ass, Rocky... need I say more, because if you want I can say about a zillion others. Fix your grammar too; because if you are young then well I'll stop arguing because I would be getting nowhere with a prepubescent child. But if you're older, well go back to school and learn how to write, state an argument, and analyze some literature so you can learn themes, tone, and plot. Okay I'm going to watch some ponies on tv because they would have more of a story to tell then Rambo 3.

brownie, you really don't get Rambo at all. The way he was kinda crying & have a manic depression is because.......he suffer from post tramastic disorder or something like that. If you really study up on that, you would see that what Rambo has & why he act like the way he is on First Blood and that what made it a good movie. You don't know about good movies with hating one that has story. Isn't that the point of good movie: telling a story??

haha people are hilarious on these message boards. Oh my God, it's hilarious how much of a girl you sound like. Getting angry over something ridiculous. Will you get mad if I tell you Santa Claus doesn't exist? The Easter Bunny? That you were probably adopted? Well I will have a good time knowing I'm being ignored by a dumbbutt, 12 year old; it makes me feel less annoyed inside.

This brownish is just an idiot. He says Cop land is Stallone's worst film and that Judge Dredd is he's one of the best films.

Go ahead, make my day!

It's fiction, not a documentary. I'm not looking for something to confirm my beliefs about the actual world in a film, and I'm not looking for something that will educate me. I'm looking for good stories (and good acting, good cinematography, etc.), I'm looking to see what filmmakers can imagine, what fictional worlds they can present to me. When I start watching a film, I have the attitude of, "Show me what the world of this film is like", not "Let's see if you can match what I believe to be true of the actual world".

Stallones career would never have progressed if he never made the Rambo sequals how else was he going to compete against Arnold box office wise.... All these idiots saying that the sequals stunk have a one dimentional taste for films, Stallone is an artist he alwys takes his character down different roots in every seuql/chapter..... Yeah First Blood was great, but sequal wise why would you want the character to do thesame bloody thing all over again/.. Plus Rambo 2 and 3 are the most iconic in the franchises, it made RAMBO Rambo. And look how many video game series and stuff it partly inspired not to mention inspire people to get excercise.

This film took the super-soldier element of Rambo to the maximum, to the point were it lost all suspense and verisimilitude. I have accepted that, and enjoy the film. But, the one that bothers when I watch this film is his when he injures himself with the wood fragment. Sure, he cauterized the injury, but, at the very least, he would have trouble walking. How he was able to put sentence together is really above what I can understand. He climbs a cliff, goes back to base, runs in the desert with the Colonel, kills of the Soviets in the cave and all the things that lead up to the final showdown. I can believe that he would escape explosions, but how little he seemed to be affected by that side injury is distracting.

This Ruined Rambo

I don't think so. Rambo III was very entertaining. Rambo IV was the one that ruined the franchise for me. A plot that is just a rehash of the three earlier movies and even some dialogues and scenes are copied. Add to that horror movie gore and you get Rambo IV.

Mr McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!

I thought they were all awesome in their own ways IMHO tbh. 
