Did Sly perform the back spin kick?
Was it him and just edited very well, or was it a stunt man performing the kick in the reverse edit?
The Ryu-style kick was performed by Jeff Langton, a martial arts champion and stuntman.

That back kick had be blown away when I watched the movie as a kid. Now the editing of cinema blows me away!

I read it in the comments section for a Rambo III youtube video, the user claimed it was Jeff Langton who did the kick (said he was the 1975 California Tae Kwon Do state champion) and I googled it and it turns out he did stunts for some of Stallone' movies like Rambo III, so it checked out.

Same here. It was a sweet move! Never knew Rambo had spinning kicks in his repertoire. It was like Guile fly kicking Zangief in that scene haha.
