Does Charlie has autism as well?

Hopefully I can help get you some hits on this. I saw this post and watched for this issue in the movie with just that in mind. It is something that I thought I had noticed when I saw it before. So I re-watched this just yesterday and:

Charlie absolutely has some kind of "issue" as well as Leonard. It's just not as intense and goes in a the exact opposite direction. He is completely self centered. Because unlike Leonard who is in many ways is completely lost, Charlie on the other hand thinks the world revolves around him. (similar to Charlie Harper on Two and 1/2 Men. except with a much different selfish focus.)

The suspicion of his problem is his inability to control his emotional state. There are times when he shows repeated actions and he repeats himself often. It always returns to the "self issue". I do NOT think he is autistic. It's just different. Could it be hereditary? Their father seems to be a piece of work as well. Something is going on and influences his control from time to time.

I picked up on that too and thought he did. Of course, just not as severe as Raymond.

My brother and I both have autism. My brother's is more severe than mine. However, we are both able to function well. The way Charlie acts towards Raymond, is the same way I acted towards my brother growing up. Constantly being mean to him and annoyed by him.

Charlie gets very annoyed easily with Raymond and isn't able to comprehend why Raymond is the way he is(well at least in the beginning)

Anyways, I never knew I was autistic(that sounds so weird to say) until very recently so it's possible one can have autism and still "act" normal without even realizing it.

See? Yeah. Watching the movie again recently I picked up on it right away.

Before, I got the impression that there was something wrong with Charlie but I wasn't able to identify it but something was certainly fishy. As a kid I hadn't had much exposure to people with autism, still haven't but I think enough experience with people in general to recognize asocial behavior. And Charlie certainly has it. Put that with the dad being asocial too, and it certainly seems like a strong possibility.

I'm surprised the movie didn't think to beat its audience over the head with that message.

Charlie wasn't autistic, nor did he have any other underlying issues. Plain and simple, he was just a prick.
