the kid can just disappear and no one asks questions?


The dad buried his son in the middle of the night does that mean the child can just disappear and no one is going to inquire about the childs welfare or where he is or if he is doing okay. I mean are there areas this rural where someone LIKE THAT can disappear no questions asked?

Some mountain communities are largely internalized. In case you didn't notice, none of the kids were in school, either. Little Blossom didn't even know what a camera was. Sadly, some places like the Wallace compound shown in the movie don't even keep accurate census records, school their children at home, and handle matters of justice with vengeance demons. ;)
