Has Anyone Seen The Sequels?

I see that there's 4 altogether but knowing how 'good' horror movie sequels usually are I'm leery to watch them.

I'm not speaking for every Pumpkinhead fan but the 2nd tried to make it a teen flick mainstream, but failed because it tried to dig too much into the mythology and I don't remember much of it ...
the 3rd, the only reason I got it was because of... guess? Doug Bradley was in it. Other than that I kinda forget it.
the 4th, was a real cheese fest with the Hatfields and the McCoys... another I pretty much forget

I watch Pumpkinhead 2 every now and again. IMO It has nothing on the first one and I wouldn't really say it's a good film. It was funny that former President Bill Clinton's brother Roger played the town Mayor.
The other two sequels are pretty bad unfortunately.

i dont consider pumpkin head 2 a sequel

reply

I would probably consider it more of a re-imagining, as it ignores a lot of the lore set up in the first film. It's a pretty bad film too, so I wouldn't really consider it a good re-imagining either.

i think its a all right at best film on its own compared to the first its crap but on its own its all right i just dont get why its a pumpkinhead sequel all they had to do was change the monster an its its own movie

reply

Yeah, it definitely would have worked better as its own thing rather than a sequel to Pumpkinhead.

Pumpkinhead II is entertaining but definitely doesn't bring itself anywhere near the level of the original. It was directed by the same guy who did Texas Chainsaw Massacre III and the Stepfather II. If you enjoyed those films you might enjoy Pumpkinhead II.

Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.

Slight Spoilers.

Pumpkinhead 2 felt like a different film. In that, it completely changed the mythology of the series. In fact, the villain of the piece was meant to be Pumpkinhead's son. Something that doesn't really make sense when compared to the first film. It was an okay film. But it changed so much about the plot, it might as well have been called something other than Pumpkinhead.

Pumpkinhead 3 was more of a direct sequel to the first film. As said Doug Bradley is in it, and Lance Henriksen returned. But quite honestly, it was all a bit dull. I didn't enjoy it that much. Which is a shame, because I really enjoyed the original.

Don't think I ever even bothered with the fourth one.

Part 2 was alright, not as good as the first but it had its moments. As for the other sequels... Well they were made for tv movies from Scy fy with awful CGI. Lance Henriksen does make appearances in both as Ed Harley. He was the only reason I watched them as for the films themselves I can only shake my head.
