A friend of mine is in a band, and I went to see them at a very small venue, with about maybe 50 people in the audience.
As a backdrop, they played this DVD on the plasma screen behind them. It made for a very interesting audio and visual experience.
Afterwards, I went out and bought the DVD to heard the original music.
Anyway, just a suggestion to any bands out there - consider this as part of your visual effects!
I think I'd rather hear Philip Glass's original music instead.
sharei'm in a band and after watching this we decided to title our new song we were making at the time 'powaqqatsi' as we thought our song sounded like it could be backdrop music for the film.

With all due respect to up-and-coming bands (we could use more of them in this era of "American Idol" screechers and prefab tween stars), you'd better be very good if people would rather listen to you than watch this backdrop – or hear Philip Glass' score. Otherwise, using this as a backdrop is setting yourself up to fail.
