I was trying to figure out where I had heard the soundtrack before as well. Yes it is in the Truman show, which I saw before I heard this. The composer of Powaqqatsi, Philip Glass contributed to some of the soundtrack of the Truman Show, and had a brief cameo as the in studio piano player.
shareHe did do the soundtrack for The Truman Show but don't think its the exact same music.... Philip Glass has a distinctive style that appears over and over in many of his pieces and soundtracks. Just because it sounds SIMILAR doesn't mean it is the self-same piece.
shareIt's the same music piece, it's called Anthem part I by Philip Glass. It is used in Powaqqatsi and the Truman show.
